Difference and identification between OPP film and PET film

February 24,2023

When we choose self-adhesive label materials, we can often hear the abbreviations PP and OPP. Is there any difference between them? What is the difference between OPP film and PET film ?
OPP plastic film is a very important soft packaging material. OPP film is colorless, odorless, tasteless and nontoxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency.
The surface energy of OPP film is low, so corona treatment is needed before gluing or printing. After corona treatment, OPP film has good printing adaptability, and can be printed in color to get a beautiful appearance, so it is often used as the surface material of composite film.

PET film is also called high temperature resistant polyester film.

It has excellent physical properties, chemical properties, dimensional stability, transparency and recyclability, and can be widely used in magnetic recording, photosensitive materials, electronics, electrical insulation, industrial films, packaging decoration, screen protection, optical mirror surface protection and other fields. Heat-resistant polyester film model: FBDW (single-sided matte black) FBSW (double-sided matte black) Heat-resistant polyester film specification thickness width winding diameter winding core inner diameter 38 μ m ~ 250 μ m 500 ~ 1080 mm 300 mm ~ 650 mm 76 mm (3 ″), 152 mm (6 ″) Note: The width specification can be produced according to actual requirements. The conventional length of film roll is equivalent to 3000m or 6000 m of 25 μ m.

PET film is a kind of packaging film with comprehensive properties.

It has good transparency and luster; Good air tightness and fragrance retention; The moisture resistance is moderate, and the moisture permeability decreases at low temperature. PET film has excellent mechanical properties, its strength and toughness are the best among all thermoplastics, and its tensile strength and impact strength are much higher than those of ordinary films. And is suitable for secondary processing such as printing, paper bags and the like. PET film also has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, chemical resistance and oil resistance. But it is not resistant to strong alkali; It is easy to carry static electricity, and there is no proper anti-static method, so attention should be paid when packaging powdery articles.
